FEBRUARY 2003

This month can best be described as maintaining the status quo. In overall weight gain/loss, I've lost 2 pounds. To be honest, I've been uninspired and unenthused. I suppose it was bound to eventually happen. What will make or break my weight loss efforts though is what I do now. Do I give up like previous times? Not in your life!

Even though a lot has happened this last month to veer me off my program, I've already started to pull myself back. The main thing I stopped doing was drinking the shake for dinner. Too lazy, too cold for a shake, kept forgetting to buy soy milk and the list of excuses goes on... The great thing though, is I had shakes 2 nights in a row this last week and lost another pound.

Another great visual reminder of my success have been my clothes. I recently gave away an entire pile of pants that no longer fit me!!! See below:

What's even better than getting rid of clothes??? Being able to fit into smaller ones! I have an equally large pile of pants that haven't fit me since before I was pregnant that now do. Just having more clothing options totally makes it all worth while. Because of these successes I just want to keep working hard and dropping more pounds.

In makeover news, I decided after 15 years of the same hairdo, to chop it and change my style. Since high school I've had hair all the same length. It took great efforts to do this and I've been too scared to try anything different. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit this, but I actually got the courage by watching the Today Show - every week they pick 2 women to makeover. I was so inspired by the results of their hair transformations that I thought I should actually do it too. 4 days later I had my own new do.

I think my new do has also given me a new sense of self and worthiness - I don't have to look frumpy anymore, I can have a cute cut and stylish clothes to boot.

Good luck and inspiration to all of you making important changes in your life too. You can do it!
